Since 2018, the Diriyah E-Prix has been the opening race of each season of the FIA Formula E World Championship.
In 2021, the Diriyah E-Prix became the site of Formula E’s first-ever night race and its first event as a certified World Championship as it entered the highest tier of international motorsport.
As well as creating the sporting stage, CBX provided a three-day festival of international music – featuring headline acts including David Guetta and OneRepublic – while raising cultural awareness amidst a journey into the rich history of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
